Steven Dalling was born in Rexburg, Idaho and attended Madison High School. He graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho, magna cum laude, in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish Education and American Government. He maintains a state of Idaho teaching certificate and is an adjunct faculty at BYU-Idaho in Spanish and Business Law. Mr. Dalling graduated from the University of Idaho School of Law in 2009 and has been admitted to practice law in both the Idaho State Court and Federal Court jurisdictions (ISB # 8335).
Aside from his private civil practice, Mr. Dalling has also served as the chief deputy prosecutor handling all felonies, child protection, and juvenile cases for Jefferson County. Mr. Dalling has also previously clerked with the 7th Judicial District Judge Gregory W. Moeller presiding over multiple counties (including Madison, Fremont, Teton, and Jefferson). During his tenure with the District Court – he worked intimately on the full range of civil and criminal actions including cases involving personal injury, real estate, business contracts, and family law issues.
Mr. Dalling has also served the public in a number of other capacities including internships with the University of Idaho Legal Aid Clinic (specializing in Victims Rights and Domestic Disputes), the Idaho State House of Representatives, the Bonneville County Prosecutor’s Office, Congressman Mike Simpson’s Office, and with the late District Judge, Brent J. Moss. Mr. Dalling is a talented negotiator and mediator and is certified in Alternative Dispute Resolution for both family and civil mediation. Mr. Dalling has also been appointed as a court ordered parenting coordinator and is on the Idaho Supreme Court mediation roster.
Mr. Dalling also serves the community through pro bono work with charities like the Child Help Fund and the Eastern Idaho Down Syndrome Family Connect (EIDSFC) and the Rexburg Family Crisis Center. Mr. Dalling has also volunteered as a Guardian ad Litem and attorney for the 2nd and 7th Judicial Districts Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) programs.Mr. Dalling’s passion for volunteer work has also extended to international opportunities serving a two-year mission for his church in Honduras, San Pedro Sula and in the founding of the Javi Gema Help Corporation (i.e. Child Help Fund) which is a 501(c)(3) public charity that helps children in Honduras that need medical care. He has also volunteered as an ESL instructor for those trying to learn English as a second language.
Mr. Dalling has three daughters and a son with whom he loves to spend his free time. Hobbies include yoga, fitness training, piano, golf, basketball, hiking, and skiing.

Val Dalling was born in Rexburg, Idaho and attended Madison High School and Ricks College. He graduated from Brigham Young University, in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Mr. Dalling then graduated from the University of Idaho School of Law in 2007 and has been admitted to practice law in both Utah State Court and U.S. Federal Court jurisdictions (USB # 11552).
Mr. Dalling has focused his private civil practice for over a decade in a full range of cases including areas of personal injury, bankruptcy, business contracts, real estate and family law issues. He was formerly an associate attorney for one of the three largest personal injury law firms in Utah, handling a large caseload of accident victim claims as well as being lead attorney for the most voluminous filing bankruptcy firm in the state. Mr. Dalling is a talented negotiator and performs as both general counsel and exclusive outside counsel for several companies.
Mr. Dalling has worked with various local charities and his interest in volunteer work has extended to opportunities serving a two-year mission for his church in Houston, Texas as well as volunteering with the Hebraeus Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity that conducts education in the field of ancient literature and serves on their board of directors.
Mr. Dalling is happily married to Brooke Murdoch from Alpine Utah and they have one son and three daughters with whom they love spending their free time. His hobbies include hiking, camping and golfing. He currently lives in Rexburg, Idaho.
